Mostly Poor, Generally Miserable, and Statistically Short

Why you’re going to be mostly poor and generally miserable for the rest of your statistically short adult life...

Unaffordable housing isn't a "norm", nor should it be. Unaffordable housing is a red flag. Now that I think about it, unaffordable housing is not just one red flag. Unaffordable housing is more red flags than a Communist Party parade. All those red flags are signaling a problem, but rather than solve that problem we're all busy managing symptoms. Symptoms which we think, because we are told, are separate problems. They aren’t. They're just symptoms of the one real problem. Yup, there’s only one of those, but we’re not being told that. So, we don't hazard to think it.

Hang on. I’m going to tell you about it right now. The problem which caused the housing shortage symptom and a bunch of other serious social "ills" (all symptoms of the one real problem) is a change in our social structure. The change which manifest so many serious symptoms that we've confused them with problems, in themselves. The one real problem we have is we recently abandoned the ancient human lifestyle of "Three Generations to a Home" starting about three generations ago.

Suddenly,
1. Housing is unaffordable by default
2. Elder care costs have become a new cumbersome budget item.
3. Our elderly parents are routinely placed at risk of being abused or ignored to death in nursing home
institutions.
4. Child care becomes yet another massive personal budget item requiring government assistance.
5. Our children are taught values by strangers rather than family.
6. As a result of #5, XBox and gang-banging become lifestyle choices for our kids.
7. Meanwhile, as a result of all the above SYMPTOMS, we get to spend years of our lives standing in line trying to get some government housing, child care, and/or elder care assistance which is guaranteed to keep us in chains for the rest of our days.
 8. If we are fortunate enough to buy a home, we’re going to have to work a lot more hours to cover all the bills. This means more child care costs and as a result, more X-Boxing/ Gang-Banging kids. Note to self: Figure Bail money into monthly budget… somehow.

All these SYMPTOMS are spawned of our abandoning the ancient human lifestyle of "Three Generations to a Home". The solution is not more or bigger government assistance checks. That, my human friends, is the road we took to arrive at this place of despair. What we need to do is solve the problem by living like humans again: Three Generations to a Home", because it works and always did.

We used to know this. We forgot. It’s time to remember again. It’s time to remember how to live like humans. It’s time to remember how to live our humanity rather than enhancing our morbidity through bankruptcy.

The future is our past or we're all history.

It’s time to go home to humanity.

As Above, So Below

Although this was written in response to S.3348 it seems to apply far more generally than I anticipated. Scary, I know. -M

RE: S.3348 – Accountable Capitalism Act
(Read this piece of shit  by clicking here... after you read my shit down there)

This is an average guy who took the time
to let his representative know his mind
in the hope representative democracy
can still work for an average guy like me.
If I may speak freely, from what I've seen
I put the odds at highly unlikely
I'm white and male, my apologies
Still, I made my plea in digital poetry
and cast it out through a port #443.
Godspeed!

To: You
From: Me

Right Honorable, Most Merciful, Excellency...
Someday this bill will come before you, burn it, please
It's a chimera, an abomination crafted beautifully
Loot billionaires for a minute then the middle class eternally
You fix inequality with ninety-nine for them, one for me
I beg your forgiveness for remembering history
Those who fail to learn its lessons end up like me
No, thank you, Can’t afford it. Now, go away please.
Then, the Bill passed with bipartisan support. Unanimously!
Another unfunded liability for me and my family.
You have no shame, so I have no sympathy. Now, go away please.

This average guy would rather see "Government Accountability"
No, I'm not a communist, terrorist, or deranged mentally.
No, I don't have a weapon or bomb. Fine. Go ahead. Frisk me... again.
I'm a libertarian... Great! Another official with episodic A.D.D.
Hey, buddy! Over here. Focus, you son of a B…

Let's talk about the lay of the land, topography
"The level playing field" as you call it dishonestly
Decades from now this quote will be my legacy
because you couldn’t tax it, steal it, or charge a fee

"Give me Death or Government Accountability"
In the Land of the Free from sea to shining sea
Immediately, if not sooner, if you please. I said please.
That’s a win-win for you and me and our posterity.
All our future generations bounced on a knee

Our debt situation isn’t serious, it’s critical, seriously
it’s a choice of life or death, to be or not to be
I don't give a shit if Kaepernick took a knee
Hey, Rain-man, are you listening to me?

As above, so below", so the ancient saying goes.
What we’re taught is everything we know.
From father to son, from mother to the girl with the bow.
To wear the mantle this lesson you must know
As above, so below.
As above, so below.
Our example plants a seed or a field fallow.
As above, so below.
As above, so below.

Those who cannot control themselves
will seek to control every one else.
To demonstrate their power and prowess
It’s in our human genome, I guess
Blind ambition is sin in fancy dress
A virtue if we veil it in governance
that cares for the poor and powerless
At their own expense. What a hot mess!

If the People wont follow
then make them bow, they know.
It’s a fear and dominance show,
follow my lead, here we go
As above, so below.
As above, so below.

The need to sit upon every throne
is a contagion beneath the capitol dome
Everyone knows how the fanfare goes
As above, so below.
As above, so below.
Once more fortissimo
As above, so below.

You’re a busy man. I understand.
Heavy is the head but so is the hand.
That forms a fist in the gauntlet of hegemony
You’re perfect plan for all the land, most assuredly
Mirages look like an oasis in the sand. Lunacy!

Let’s speak honestly. Here’s the truth I see
Charity is the sister of accountability
both are birthed or stillborn at home invariably
If you can’t control yourself, don’t try steering me

If the blind lead the gullible it’s easy to see
Both fall down pursuant to the Law of Gravity
When plunder is enshrined in law, the law is insanity
Free from the chains of bondage to financial slavery

We have arrived in the land of bilk your money
The promised land of transfer payment thievery
Open your wallet says me, Ali Baba’s wet dreams
Plenty for Al Capon’s bride to be
The Artful Dodger picked her purse clean
Robin Hood, what an amateur!
We're the government, we rob everybody.

To each according to their criminality
to those upon the throne, our ruling royalty
by the indolent hand of noble bureaucracy
From those below the wealth is gleaned

A permanent flock of sheep to fleece
99 for the shepherds and none for me
Don’t kill them, just shear them vigorously
until they bleed.

Arbeit macht frei!

Work makes you free the same lie they told me
E Pluribus Unum means "We serve monopolies"
Buy on Amazon, post on Facebook, insure with Geico
Lose it in Public Storage, find it, and sell it on Let Go
Get a nickel on the buck if the market is right
Repeat this mistake every day for the rest of your life

iPods, iPads, iPhones one through ten, iHomes
I need a vacation to rest my broken iBones
You know the drill, so here iGo...
As above, so below.
As above, so below.

Equality begins six feet down horizontally
Not a level playing field at forty-five degrees
No, thank you, Can’t afford it. Now, go away please.
I’ve got kids to feed. Your help is killing me.

First practice what you preach
Prove your wise enough to teach
Equity isn’t grab everything in reach
While lying to me through golden teeth
There is no honor among thieves
Even those who pontificate constantly

The banks just went bankrupt again? Oh, gee?
Even after I paid all those goddamn fees?
Deficit spending and freedom ain't free
Steal the money from my kid, age three
But don't touch a dime of my social security
That makes good financial sense to me
The kid may feel differently at age thirty-three
Oh, damn! Papa and Uncle Sam fucked me!

As the damage grows...
As above, so below
As above, so below

And the corruption shows...
As above, so below
As above, so below

Generations fall like dominoes...
As above, so below
As above, so below

Like a river flows and the sunlight glows
As above, so below
As above, so below

A seed or fallow
As above, so below
As above, so below

The hand both reaps and sows
As above, so below
As above, so below

The judge made a choice, easy as can be
Death before Government Accountability

Legally "equal" is two ropes on a gallows
None for them, two for me, consecutively.

Sentence to be carried out prestissimo
Stretch his neck. Courts adjourned. Gotta pee.

May God have mercy on your soul.
As above, so below
As above, so below

Before my last words I heard the judge clearly go…

Now, you’re free, you’re really free
I thought he was talkin' to his dick not me
I was wrong, dead wrong as could be...
Free at last, so totally free
But your widow still owes me
Damn, it burns when I pee!

Last words... Fuck it! Let's go.
So, the story goes...
As above, so below
As above, so below
As above, so below
As above, so below

Gratitude.gov

Sargon the Great "Inventor" of the wheel

Ladies and Gentlemen of these United States of America,
lend me your eyes...

Let us offer gratitude to our government for all it has done for us and our future generations. Mark this moment in your mind for we live in remarkable times. A new era has begun. We are fortunate to be the first in line of many generations of diminished expectations. Allow me to be the voice among the People to turn towards that city on a hill, Washington D.C., and offer our elected officials our Gratitude.gov.

Thank you for robbing us and our children of a future. Destitution requires little planning and no labor at all. Thank you for all the corruptions you engaged in and allowed. In truth, they were but one and the same. Thank you for the financial shenanigans you profited from, facilitated, ignored, or permitted by ineptitude. You have taught us so much about accountability by example. Our sincere gratitude for the bait and switch shell game of hope and change. It kept our patriotic fervor at a fevered pitch while our Republic was systematically dismantled and fleeced of its value and Values. Two birds, no stone. We appreciate the great efforts taken to devise solutions which compounded the problems and still managed to convince us progress was made. Thank you for all the byzantine political theater which tore our nation apart and turned neighbor against neighbor. What your performance may have lacked in substance was rewarded many times over in dissolution. You gave us all you had which was empty elocution and passionate mendacity. In return all you asked of us was our treasure, trust, and honor. Then, our sons and daughters limbs and lives to cover the balance. All unjust means in the pursuit of your own ends wrapped in red, white, and blue flags. You basked in the glory of the good times and shed accountability like a serpent’s skin when the rot of your corruptions burst through the thin, yet opaque veneer of law and national security redactions which you built to obscure our view. You enriched your families co-conspirators, and cronies ad nauseum with much at our great expense while we lavishly honored you with accolades and laurels.

Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, these reprobates are the culprits but we are to blame.

The First Rule of Republic:
“You have no one to blame but yourselves.”

Nevertheless, there is a Just God in Heaven. So, in our frustration and rage it is those lauded officers of state which we will set upon and tear limb from limb under the supernal Wheel of Revolution to Rights ourselves again. AMEN.

A Pallet of Prozac, Please

(American diplomacy meets Game of Thrones Edition)

It may come as a bit of a surprise to our Federal policymakers that they do not possess the authority to set policy for the planet. Many people around the globe, myself included, are wondering if those who govern from inside the Beltway have gone out of their minds. To wit:

  • We are currently levying sanctions on Russia without any tangible proof of wrongdoing. Aside from the a priori argument “because we said so”, there is nothing substantive to our accusations.

  • We are pursuing sanctions against Iran based on similar thin air evidence.

  • Venezuela is getting our sanction cold shoulder as well, but in the case of Caracas, it's more personality based than political.

The list goes on and on but I will not to economize time for both of us. Now, none of these things are overtly Cersei insane in the Game of Thrones known as US politics. To the contrary, these Tywinesque punitive mandates issued via the Twitter raven have become rather routine. Disturbing sure, but not irrefutably bats in the belfry like King Joffrey.

This is very reminiscent of the Lannister’s rule of law. Do as we command or we will lay siege and have your head on a pike at the Red Keep by nightfall.

Nevertheless, the bellicose behavior of our policymakers which many people around the globe, myself included, consider outlandish now constitutes American diplomacy terra firma. Perhaps, we can just chalk the bravado and bad manners up to Sansa Stark youthful naivety. That would be nice and expedient. So, let's assume it's inexperience, ignorance, bad advice from a Maestrer who's been sipping his own Milk of the Poppy, or anything other than malice at work in the Beltway belfry. We can dispatch the issue as quickly as a faceless man.

But then, there is this issue of sanctioning anyone who doesn't respect our sanctions. That is straight up cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs stuff. It's a warning to every other sovereign nation on the pale blue dot that America’s leadership is in need of a Costco size pallet of Prozac addressed:

Residents, et al.
1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
The Nut Factory, USA.

This all encompassing dictatorial threat to friend and (perceived) foe alike seems very un-American to me, many people around the globe included. Rather than the acts of an enlightened republic, we are issuing the ultimatums of a senile emperor. A very dangerous and increasingly paranoid emperor who isn't so certain that his reign is just, that truth will out, and that good will always triumphs over evil. A demented and twisted king whose final decree would be, "Burn them. Burn them all!"

Where's a Kingslayer when you need one?

Our diplomatic energies, like all human endeavors, can produce either heat or Light. Justice, Truth and Goodness only produce Light. We have become far too fond of dragons.

USA vs USSR

U.S. Constitutional System

Soviet System

Bill of Rights to protect individual rights with access to independent judiciary enforced.

  • While this may have been true at one time, the courts have rendered increasingly narrow interpretations of individual Rights to the point where it is now legal for the President to summarily execute an American citizen by declaring them an Unlawful Combatant. That is capricious, legal, and it is murder.

  • As for the independent judiciary, the rise of activist judges have turned the bench into their personal political principalities. Built on a foundation of case law where one poor decision can give birth to millions more and our Principles be damned.

Soviet constitution states protections, but there was no independent judiciary

  • Rights? Sure, you got rights. Abstract though they may be, just like every other country.
  1. You have the right to choose from what is offered.
  2. You have the right to throw yourself on the mercy of the State.
  3. You have the right to be systematically swindled by those who administer administrative law.
  4. You have the right to a legal system where the common person stands no chance of finding justice without a high priced "Priest of the Temple" to plea their petitions before the "Gods".
  5.  Certain restrictions may apply.

Free elections

  • American elections are duopolized by two  massive, private corporations which hold no Constitutional validity, yet the Democratic and Republican parties are the gatekeepers of power for the United States. While they appear to be two separate institutions each representing
  • distinctly different constituencies, they both answer to the same "powers that be".
  • This makes our ostensibly free elections the illusion of Republic. By definition the United States is an Oligarchy.
ˈäləˌɡärkē
noun
a small group of people having control of a country, organization, or institution.

Government-controlled elections
Representative government at federal, state, and local levels

  • This is true, but whom are they representing? In search of an answer to this question, two university professors did a great deal of research and they came to some stark, but not surprising conclusions. See their work here.

Central Committee of Communist Party in control of central, state, and local government
Police under civilian control

  • Once again, this was true in the past but in our effort to fight the Drug War and now terrorism, we have turned our civilian police force into a para-military force which could rival many nations armies. Often the police officers are ex-military and are working in neighborhoods where they do not reside. The effect is one of an occupying force rather than local law enforcement. We have watched as Homeland Security and other Federal agencies have become far more involved in local law enforcement.

  • Currently, every form of electronic communication transmitted from one American citizen to another is filtered through the National Security Agency (for our protection, of course). Edward Snowden currently has a warrant for blowing the whistle on this glaring violation of our Fourth Amendment Rights. You remember, the Inalienable Rights we received from our Creator. They just ain’t so anymore.

  • On the matter of controlling dissent, we already know that most civil rights leaders were tailed by the FBI. More recently environmental activists and third party candidates have their daily activities recorded in «Official Use Only» dossiers. Let us not forget the newly created “free protest zones“ within a nation that was a free protest zone.
Police under party control; active secret police unit to control dissent
Free press

  • Free is an ambiguous term in this case. While there is a commercial press, it is not necessarily a free press. Corporate sponsors and political heavyweights exert pressure on news outlets by virtue of being the wealth and the power by which media lives or dies. Mr. Turner did not reach the pinnacle of media by saying “no” to the “powers that be”. Here’s an example of America’s “free” press.

  • As media opinions have narrowed, our options have followed suit. We are offered a few schools of thought to battle one another over, but in the end the People’s debate is background noise. The decision was made long before the average person became aware there was a choice to be made.

State-controlled press
Military under control of elected civilian government

  • A civilian is in charge of the military, many civilians. They are the executives of our largest defense contractors. Since 1967, the year of my birth, the United States has been at war 51% of my days. Those born after 9/11/2001 have never known a day of peace.

  • Dwight Eisenhower, began his military career as a Second Lieutenant in World War One and ended World War Two as the Supreme Allied Commander, then went on to be the Occupational Governor of Germany and eventually the President of the United States (Resume provided to disarm the “Communist”, “Hippie” or Conspiracy Nut” dismissals). President Eisenhower closed his public career by issuing the American People a stark warning about the military industrial complex. We ignored his appeal and now our military and our brave sons and daughters have become mercenaries for merchants.

  • We live in comfort and ease while we fight a “war” with no declared enemies, no rules of engagement, and no exit strategy. War without end. A nation which remains at war for decades and feels no ill effects (e.g. - Rationing) cannot be a moral nation for they have made war a thing of leisure.

  • Terrorism is a tactic. It’s not an enemy. We can no more defeat a tactic than we can defeat frontal attack or encirclement. The war on terror is nothing more than a license to kill anyone, anywhere, without conscience or consequence. That is a power no lawful nation should abide or exercise ever.
Military under control of central leadership of bodies Communist Party
Extensive private property ownership

  • Indeed, Americans own a great deal of real property. We live in a big country which dwarfs all European nations. The United States is the third largest nation-state on earth. Yet, home equity ratios have been dwindling since the early 1950’s. The property is privately owned, but mostly by the bank

  • We are increasingly house poor. A home is the largest investment most working people will ever make, and the viability and burden of that investment has been slowly ebbing from middle-class America. Many of those working and dream of being middle-class have a $15 an hour job which will provide the down-payment on lunch.
State ownership of major industries; very limited private ownership
In Conclusion
  • Yes, we knew that all along, so WTF are we putting so much time and treasure to becoming the necromancers of the USSR!?!
In Occlusion
  • In short, Communism sucks. It withers the human soul, depreciates the human being, and turns them into dysfunctional and despondent hive dwellers. Bees do hive thinking well. Humans do not. Stop trying.

“Some pipe dreams are so magnificent and appealing to the human mind that their golden visions last an entire lifetime. Taunting you, shimmering there, just out of your grasp. The dream persists long after the memories of the millions who perished in the last attempt to possess it. Your Precious, your gleaming socialist dream lasts long enough for you to commence the slaughter again. The necromancer lives once more.”

Now, look away, close your eyes, and pretend you never read these words.
