Monsanto, FDA, & EPA: No Suppression, Just Tacit Approval

You’ve got to love Snopes. Not only do they suck at what they do, but they don’t even try to hide it. They just blather on torpedoing their own integrity just as often as the corrupt institution they are trying to keep afloat.

So, let’s get this straight…

 

The product has been on the market since 1974 and is used on just about every grain we eat and the feed for the livestock we eat, and we can’t get a conclusive answer from the FDA or EPA over the course of nearly half a century regarding whether or not glyphosate causes cancer?  What would Snopes call that rather preposterously long amount of time to be potentially poisoning the American People, “red tape”, “Due diligence”,”a multi-generational deliberative process”? What?

Why hasn’t there been serious, intensive, and conclusive investigation into a chemical herbicide that is showing up in just about everything we eat over the last half a century, Snopes? If that isn’t being in “cahoots”, then it’s just plain “dereliction of duty”, “failure to care”, or maybe “garden variety incompetence”. 

Here’s FUCU’s approach to ferreting out the truth…

1. Is this something the EPA and FDA have regulatory control over? YES

2. Something that could have a catastrophic effect on Americans? YES

3. Do we have the technology to run conclusive tests? YES

4. Have the EPA and FDA run the tests? NO

5. Why not? Uhm… Eh… Well, you see… I’ll invoke the Fifth.

In conclusion, while it is possible, but highly unlikely, the FDA and EPA are not suppressing the information about glyphosate, they certainly aren't doing much investigating, gathering, and disseminating either. FUCU can find no justifiable reason for the gross negligence, regulatory foot dragging, and a stellar failure to take initiative on what could be the wholesale poisoning of the American People by the FDA and EPA. This issue should be both agencies first and foremost issue to resolve before another molecule of glyphosate enters a baby's mouth.

Actions will always speak louder than words, but when it comes to glyphosate the FDA and EPA haven't provided much of either. Just an eerie half century of silence.

Part One (Of Your Vivisection): Prison by 8 AM

6:30 a.m. You are awakened by your clock radio. You know it is actually 6:30 because by law the National Institute of Standards and Technology is the only organization allowed to keep the official time regardless of how outdated, inefficient, or bloated this bureaucracy has become and how badly it has performed over the past century and hobbling our trade by keeping us on the Standard system when the rest of the world is Metric. And you can listen to your favorite radio station only because the Federal Communications Commission limits your choices and makes sure that radio, television, and cable remain monopolized and Byzantine. It ensures, for example, that radio stations do not overlap whose signals crowd our nation’s airwaves with many different "options" all owned by the same very few providers, but most importantly it gives the Federal government the power to pull the plug on anyone who doesn't tow the Party Line.  Hooray for the illusion of choice!

6:35 a.m. Like 17 million other Americans, you have asthma. You get out of bed you notice that you are breathing just as poorly as usual this morning. This is thanks in no small part to government clean air laws that reduce the air pollution that would otherwise greatly worsen your condition. that establish legal pollution levels allowing  polluters to continue killing 60, 000 people every year with the very air they breath.

6:38 a.m. You go into the kitchen for breakfast. You pour some water into your coffeemaker. You simply take for granted that this water is safe to drink. But in fact you count on your city water department to constantly monitor the quality of your water and to immediately take measures to correct any potential problems with this vital resource, just like the people in Flint Michigan could count on it when the Federal city manager appointed during the near bankruptcy of Flint did. The government’s Gold Standard for Lead in your drinking water. The prosecutor subsequently dropped all charges against the perpetrators. No one will ever be held accountable. No one will pay a price except the victims. Thanks Uncle Scam!

6:39 a.m. You flip the switch on the coffee maker. There is no short in the outlet or in the electrical line and there is no resulting fire in your house. Why? Because when your house was being built, the electrical system had to be inspected to make sure it was properly installed – a service provided by your local government that adds a considerable amount to the cost of your house and provides you with no warranty against poor workmanship, faulty materials, or even an improper inspection. However, the inspection ensures that you have complied with the many regulations and codes designed to keep certain manufacturers in business and prevent competition from others. And it was installed by an electrician who was licensed by your state government, which may or may not have anything to do with his competence, but certainly has a lot to do with his price, to ensure his competence and your safety both arbitrary standards set by lawyers with self interest in mind.  .

6:45 a.m. You sit down to breakfast with your family. You are having eggs – a food that brings with it the possibility of salmonella poisoning, a serious food-borne illness affecting tens of thousands of Americans every year. But the chance of you getting sick from these eggs has now been greatly reduced as far as individual cases, but do to the consolidation of the food industry and the failure of the USDA to do any meaningful food safety testing when there is an outbreak it affects thousands of people across 7 to 10 States, by a recently passed series of strict federal rules that apply to egg producers. Which if you actually bother to fact check, doesn’t ring true when you consider the “series of strict federal rules that apply to egg producers” amounts to “eliminate prescriptive regulations, including those requiring prior approval by FSIS of egg products plant drawings, specifications, and equipment”, some revisions in inspection that will cut inspectors hours and turn them into traveling spot checkers, and a lot of renaming things that have ZERO effect on food safety.

7:00 a.m. You go into your newly renovated bathroom – one of a number of amenities that you enjoy in your house. But the fact that you can legally own rent your house is something made possible by government who charges you rent every six months in the form of property taxes for the privilege of renting the home. Should you fail to pay this rent the government will come and throw you out of it and sell it to someone else. Think about this: “ownership” and “private property” are not things that exist in nature. These are legal constructs: things created by laws that are passed and enforced by government often to your detriment and the governments benefit. You couldn’t even buy your home without a system of commercial laws concerning contracts and a government that ensures that sales contracts are enforced. So the fact that you live in your own home is, in part, a benefit of government and the rule of law. That struck out section is complete tripe, and only contains a scintilla of truth in that government requires all the paperwork so they know who to tax. The fact that it stands up in court is by legal fiat and not some benevolent act by government in your interest. Private land sales and transfers have successfully existed for thousands of years without any government involvement or added expense.

7:01 a.m. Government also helps you own your house in more than the legal sense. Same tripe being restated as if it were true. On a more practical level, the federal government actually gives you money it stole from others every year to help pay for your house. It’s called theft  a  mortgage interest tax deduction and it is one of the larger smaller  thefts  benefit programs run by the federal government – amounting to over $60 billion dollars a year in loot. Which is actually a concession to the Real Estate sector as it makes it easier to sell homes and get buyers to qualify. The more efficient way to apply this would be not to tax money paid towards a mortgage at all. Thereby creating a tax free investment in America’s future. Unfortunate, “mortgage interest tax deduction” sounds like they’re doing something big for you when considering the size of the investment adds up to be a little bit of nothing. You can also deduct any real estate taxes rent you pay. These largely overlooked subsidy programs have enabled millions of people to buy their first home or to move up to a larger home than they could afford otherwise, and sometimes be  wiped out by government legislation and Federal Reserve intervention that set up the continuation of the spiraling housing bubble where we find ourselves in a death roll.

7:02 a.m. Back in the bathroom. You use the toilet and flush it. Your local government then takes care of transporting this waste, treating it, and disposing of it in an environmentally responsible manner – all without a second thought by you, until you get your exorbitantly high water bill and you have third and fourth thoughts over how the hell you can afford to keep renting your house. Later you discover that the water bill is mostly waste water treatment costs which used to be reasonable, but because of recent legislation some municipalities have been completely bankrupted by the new legal “safe water standards.”

7:20 a.m. As you are getting dressed, a glance outside the window shows some ominous clouds. You check the weather on your TV. All these weather forecasts are made possible by information gathered and analyzed by the National Weather Service, a government agency which just like the National Institute of Standards and Technology has a monopoly on weather prediction regardless of how often their predictions are wrong, how inefficient, or bloated the “Weather Shaman Principality” bureaucracy becomes, you will tithe to them . Every day, on your behalf, it takes in 190,000 weather observations from surface stations, 2,700 from ships, 115,000 from aircraft, 18,000 for buoys, 250,000 from balloons, and 140 million from satellites – all at a cost of $7 billion dollars whether you are happy with the service or not. ….all ostensibly just to help you plan what to wear and make sure you don’t get stuck in a snow storm, but who knows? Weathermen earned a reputation for being wrong a great deal while working for the overblown National Weather Service. And oh yes, this agency may save your life (or cost you your life) with its hurricane and tornado warnings, if they get it right for once.

7:30 a.m. Before you leave home, you take your pills to control your high blood pressure. But how do you know that this medicine is safe or effective? You don’t. Without the testing required by the Food and Drug Administration, you wouldn’t you still don’t. And with or without the vigilance of the FDA, you could still easily fall victim to unscrupulous marketers of unsafe and worthless medicines, like oxycodone which not only addicts you but disables you from getting back on your own two feet. Once addicted, thanks to the FDA claiming Oxies were less addictive than other opiates and “safe as aspirin” you fall into a life of crime trying to avoid withdrawal pains and feed your addiction. The DEA, DOJ, and local law enforcement will totally fail to notice hundreds of thousands of oxycodone pills flowing from mom and pop pharmacies every month. Additionally, they will think nothing of the lines of the newly addicted lined up for three blocks or wrapping around pharmacies nationwide for the better part of a decade. What law enforcement will not miss is your latest reckless crime spree and along with the DOJ send you off to prison for a few years where no one will care that all you did was go to the doctor for a broken ankle and 12 months later you ended up in prison thanks to the FDA!

"This is all wrong. I shouldn't be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean. Yet you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you! You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words. And yet I'm one of the lucky ones. People are suffering. People are dying. Entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction, and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you!"

Me:

She has a point. She probably should be charged with truancy, but for some reason this 16 year old and her Climate Change Cult know everything already. They have oftentimes declared the science finished, which only exposes how ignorant of the nature, scope, and limitations of science they truly are. No one came to Greta for hope. She came before the UN to preach the Faith of Her Cult. What Greta doesn’t seem to grasp is that “Science is the pursuit of truth.” So long as you are rigorously and systematically pursuing truth with intellectual integrity you are doing science. The moment you believe that you have discovered the truth you sought, science ends and in that moment your belief in that truth becomes your Faith. So, when Greta claims the science is done, she is correct. She is a fanatic of Faith in the Climate Change Cult, nothing more.

When it comes to economic growth, Greta, the human race has a history of economic growth which stretches back millennia. A few setbacks here and there, but the long term trend has always been growth. The only fairy tale here is that you know what you're talking about. Your tempestuous behavior lends nothing to your cause. You appear as you are, an emotionally overwrought teenage girl who is a bit too passionate about several topics which she does not understand. Fully invested in your misplaced Faith, you substitute raw emotional outrage for comprehension. 

Greta again:

How dare you continue to look away and come here saying that you're doing enough, when the politics and solutions needed are still nowhere in sight. "You say you hear us and that you understand the urgency. But no matter how sad and angry I am, I do not want to believe that. Because if you really understood the situation and still kept on failing to act, then you would be evil. And that I refuse to believe.

The data goes back millions of years. Greta. Thirty years is a statistically insignificant sample to judge anything here on planet earth. You are basing your Faith on 0.000000006% of Earth’s life so far. That is like us judging what you will be doing 30 years from now based on the last 3 seconds of your life. Does that sound reasonable, Greta? Does that sound like solid scientific grounds to dump hundreds of trillions of dollars and countless lives of those yet to be born, Greta? If it does, then you are the reckless child that you appear to be. Yes, we hear you because you have a global venue, but your climate change cult has no lack of publicity while your cult is well financed by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. Where its lacking isn't big political and Wall Street clout, it is in demonstrable science. Give us a call at the bar when the first city is submerged.

The “popular idea” you speak of is one of those well advertised and constantly repeated  mantras of your cult which has no basis in fact. During the Carboniferous Period atmospheric CO2 was 12 times higher than it is today coming in at around 3%. The only chains here are the ones imprisoning you in your ignorance and the ones of those you lure into your dungeon of blind Faith. What hidden warming? What tipping points? What feedback loops? These are bogey men we've heard from your cult for fifty years, Greta. None of them have proven true. Two decades before you were born, Greta, we were told we had 15 years to save the planet. Coastal cities would be submerged beneath oceans rising 15 to 30 meters as the ice caps melted unless we cut CO2 by 50% by the year 2000. Well, my dear Greta, CO2 output has nearly doubled since then and an actual increase in sea level 0.6 cm, and even that is debatable. So, these climate scientists send you an emotional little girl because their science is worthy of ridicule and scorn.  If she's not old enough to drink she lacks the perspective to be taken seriously on a many times discredited and financially corrupted science.

While morons like John Foley from Reuters write hit pieces like the one linked below, he failed to mention the good news, but accentuated everything that sounds scary. He claims crypto is batting 0 for 3 on its advantages, but that's not true...



#1) Is it a form of payment that can still be used anywhere in the world?



Yes, yes it can John. We just aren't going to run off and tell the Chinese government were doing it. That's why it's called "Crypto", dude.



#2) Is the supply limited making it inflation proof? Many are like Bitcoin, others are inflationary. It depends on the designed purpose of the particular 2,000 plus coins there are to choose from.



#3) Can it be manipulated by central bankers or governments?

No, it can't. There are simply too many of them and new issues arrive every day. However, just like every other currency, commodity, or laborer on the planet cryptos are subject to the immutable Laws of Supply and Demand.



As an alternative to crypto, Mr. Foley and every filthy rich central banker on Earth offers you an ever eroding fiat currency which has not only lost lost 99% of it's purchasing power over the last century, but has been manipulated to cause depressions, recessions, and credit crises the world over.



Like carnival hawkers crying "Come try your luck with me, suckers!" They offer their fiat carrot on a stick. You won't get the carrot, but you will definitely get the rest of it. It's okay, John. You've done your duty for thieves and country.

MY RESPONSE TO YET ANOTHER NON-SOLUTION TO HOMELESSNESS

That's a cost of $200,000.00 per person. Only an unhinged government bureaucrat would be proud of that kind of financial performance. Unless every one of them is walking away with a bachelor's degree, a new car, and one hell of a down payment on their house... The Price is Wrong, Dow.

 Instead, what I see is about 70% of those funds going to social services cronies and their apparatchiks, and 420 homeless people right back where they are today 36 months from now.

 Let's face it. This homeless problem is not something new. If government could fix it they have had 30 years to do so, but it has only grown worse. Millions upon millions have been spent. Shelters built, funds, allocated, programs launched, and the results have been at best meager. There is a reason why your "visionary" plans have failed in the past, and it's precisely this very same reason why this "visionary" plan will invariably fail.

 Pay attention now…

1.  Homelessness has nothing to do with inadequate funding.

2. Homelessness has nothing to do with building support networks and shelters.

3. Homelessness has nothing to do with drug treatment, or mental health funding.

 These are all "Windmills" you have gone out to joust Dow Quixote because that is the mantra Liberals have maintained for 30 years. An endless choir of, "We need more money! We need more shelters! We need more drug treatment! We need more mental health funding!" We need. We need. We need.

 Still, you don't comprehend... It's not about you. It's not about what you need at all. It's about what they need, and that Dow Quixote is housing costs that are not increasing at up 10.6% to 14.2% per year every #@%$ing year.

 You see, Dow Quixote, while you have been doing your level best to ensure these kinds of astronomical property returns with your green spaces and habitats, tree plantings, and dense high tax yielding golden zones you have been creating the very condition that produces homelessness.
